In order to make sure that our moisture meters are measuring correct we have gone through a verification process there special selected straw bales have been measured with our moisture meters. The spots of the measurements have then been drilled out and carefully wrapped in plastic and sent to a verification laboratory.
An the verification laboratory the samples are carefully unwrapped and weighed. Then the samples are dried in an oven accordingly to an international standard for this process. Afterwards the samples are weighed again and the difference in weight equals the amount of water in the straw.
At DSE Test Solutions we use the information from the laboratory to determine the precision of our moisture meters, so the values our moisture meters are measuring are consistent with the real life moisture levels of the bales.
The verification process is a long, tedious and costly affair, but we believe that it is important to be able to assure our customers that measurements made by a DSE Moisture Meter has a high documented accuracy and quality.
